Visualizing is nothing more than creating a picture in your mind, and most of us are quite skilled at this from a very early age. We do it all of the time whenever we daydream or get lost in thought.
Creative visualization helps you make the future much more clear because you can see yourself achieving important goals. When you visualize, your brain is often in the alpha brainwave state, which is a much more relaxed state of mind than you are typically in throughout your day.
The alpha brainwave state is typically accessed through meditation and it is a wonderful state of mind to make changes in. Visualization is not only a wonderful way to manifest things; it is also a great way to connect with spirit.
You create things by first imagining them in your mind. In light of this fact, it makes perfect sense that you can also imagine yourself connecting with the world of spirit.
There are many spiritual benefits to something like visualization, from helping you connect with your higher power to helping you heighten your awareness and tap into your intuition. When you visualize, you are actually connecting with and opening up a spiritual doorway per se.
Everything in your world comes from the world of the unseen, or the world known as spirit. You create things by first imagining them in your mind. In light of this fact, it makes perfect sense that you can also imagine yourself connecting with the world of spirit.
Try this exercise now:
Close your eyes and take 2-3 deep cleansing breaths. To protect yourself say a simple prayer or imagine yourself immersed in the white light of the Holy Spirit.
Now imagine you are in some kind of spiritual center, whatever works for you. You might imagine, for example, you are in some kind of spiritual temple or sanctuary. You might be surrounded by marble columns, or in some kind of domed building. Your spiritual sanctuary might also be located in a beautiful healing garden of some kind. If you like the idea of water, you could see yourself seated alongside a beautiful lake or even sitting by the seashore. Use whatever imagery is comforting for you.
Close your eyes and imagine the most beautiful, sacred place you can imagine. You might hear the sound of water trickling, you may hear wind chimes, smell the aroma of beautiful plants and flowers, or just sense a breeze on your face. Imagine who else might be here? You might see other people, sitting in prayer, or even Angels or other spiritual beings.
The more you do this kind of simple exercise in your mind, the more will be revealed to you. Trust that your mind will lead you in the right direction. Trust and open up your energy and ask to connect with the world of spirit.
